The interiors at Tintern Toorak Village are an extension of the architecture – we explore the idea of ‘soft minimalism’, spaces that feel contemporary and neutral whilst still warm and inviting.
The foundation of the design materiality lies in a carefully chosen soft, textural brick and stone base palette, establishing a tactile connection with the building architecture. Within the interior spaces, white-washed oak timber pavilions serve as functional and aesthetically significant elements, introducing a sense of interior architecture to divide and create spaces.
The introduction of light into the inner areas of the apartment is a key element, achieved through the introduction of refined timber and glass walls, softened by the drape of linen curtains.
The interiors are further distinguished by sculptural stone joinery pieces. These almost furniture-like components within the kitchen and bathroom spaces are meticulously detailed to elevate this materiality, bringing a refined sense of craftsmanship to the design. Subtle luxuries, through the addition of brushed and tumbled brass accents, carefully applied to hardware and fittings, add a discreet layer of sophistication to the overall design.
